CMS Case Management- "Ask the Expert"

This session is opened to both beginners and advanced to all roles involved in the Case Management process. The format of this session is Q & A only. As a prerequisite, you should bring 1-2 questions, in written form, to the session. Questions will be randomly drawn and the Subject Matter Expert will address the question selected. Only written questions will be addressed and if time permits verbal questions will be addressed. Please keep your questions concise and to the point.

Connecting Clients with Resources

This workshop outlines the importance of wrap-around services our clients need, how to partner with other local agencies to deepen the assistance we give and additional techniques associated with case management. It will also explain the various resources available to the clients within their Conferences and Districts, as well as ideas for organizing and distributing information about these resources to Vincentians and the clients.

Community Gardens & Farmers Markets

This workshop will provide an overview of community gardening as represented by the movement in metropolitan Atlanta over the past twenty years. It will include traditional neighborhood-based, self-directed, and self-sustaining community gardens, and will also highlight food gardens whose purposes are therapeutic, philanthropic and educational. Look for information about urban market gardens and farmers markets along with the zoning ordinances that impact them as well.

The Conference Support Center

Attendees will learn about the responsibilities of the Conference Support Center (CSC) and the ways in which the CSC can support the Conferences and their members in the areas of communication, volunteering, thrift stores, case management, development & funding, programs, Formation and the car donation program.

High Interest Loan Conversion Program

This workshop will outline the new partnership between St. Vincent de Paul Georgia and Associated Credit Union through the High Interest Loan Conversion Program. The Loan Conversion program is designed to provide a way for SVdP to help convert high interest loans to a traditional credit union personal loan for the people we serve. You will learn more about how the program works and how it can provide financial freedom for your clients who would not normally qualify for an affordable loan.

Spirituality of Advocacy

This workshop reviews excerpts from The Society's national position papers on health care and wages, as well as Vincentian involvement in the political process, in the context of the recently updated USCCB document"Forming Consciences For Faithful Citizenship".

Social Justice

This workshop will provide an overview of the services at Daybreak and how they connect with our Vincentian Values. Daybreak is a day/resource center that provides Macon's homeless population with critical services, all in one place. Located in a 6,000 square foot former warehouse on the edge of the central business district in Macon, Georgia, Daybreak Center provides hygiene, health, education, and job preparation for the homeless population in the area.
